Can't think of what to say
Yes good to meet good to start this just made me think my head is really out of gear and I need to start thinking again. I thought a bit about ideas and how I'd always avoided objects as a theme even though I loved them and how I always felt "I needed to make something new" bring something into the world - a physical thing. The museum residencies sort of gave me license to play with objects as a theme and now they have finished and we are talking about trying to find something new it all feels a bit daunting. Anyway need to get the kids back to school and start to shape this site. For me the conversation was interesting - I'm liking the idea of pairs of photographs one the point of digression from the path one what is found at the end of it - we could start it on this discursive blog and the develop it into a clean website that we could maybe share and get others to contribute to if it works - first bit of pure web art? what does tha think lass? I had no pictures but your film made me think of skiing so I blog me skiing with camera stuck on my head.

i have considered the idea of a site dedicated to found sites and the moment you leave the track, and wonder what it does? is it a web place that just people add to but encourages them to explore the world and deviate from the path, which is a nice thing, in that we get people to move differently in the world, all directed indirectly by us - a nice piece of relational work. I like that people would send it out and it would be added to by strangers from all over the world.I worry it becomes superficial in a way that it doesnt do anything more than be a visual story/ narrative. Perhaps it needs a bit more, perhaps it needs strands so that the linkage idea can go off in different directions, like a wayfinding path. I like that it could grow and people post their found site next to another that makes a visual conceptual link, rather than just a - "oh and i went here look what i found."
ReplyDeleteCould it start as a new blog? and once developed become a website or do you think it needs setting up as a site first?
